A LUK Clutch Kit can be installed on BMW 318iss of model years '91, '92, '93, '94, '95, '96 and '97. Clutch Kites allow the transmission to select different gears by uncoupling the vehicle's transmission from the motor. Your Clutch Kit is a key piece within a transmission system permitting the current gear to be released from the car's driveshaft to enable a different higher or smaller gear to be applied. While a clutch is a tough element, after 75,000 miles or so the internal components can stop functioning and require a new part. A functioning Clutch Kit helps switch gears using the engine flywheel and friction discs; as the clutch pedal is depressed, the components become disjointed, uncoupling the engine from the wheels and allowing the engine to rotate free.
