The LUK Clutch Kit can be used on Ford Mustangs with model years 1994, 1995, 1996, 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003 and 2004. In cars that use an automatic transmission, the Clutch Kit is built directly into your transmission system, but stick shifts require the car owner to engage the clutch on their own, usually by using a pedal near the brake pedal. While a vehicle clutch is a resilient part, over time the friction-bearing elements can stop functioning and require repair. Clutch Kites allow the driver to change to a new gear by uncoupling the transmission from the motor. A Clutch Kit is an important element within a transmission permitting your current gear to be disengaged from the car's drive shaft to enable another larger or lower gear to be used. A functioning Clutch Kit switches gears by using the engine's flywheel and friction discs; as the clutch is depressed, the components separate, disconnecting the vehicle's motor from the wheels and allowing it to turn freely.
