This LUK Clutch Kit will work with Volkswagen Jettas from 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004 and 2005. While a vehicle clutch is a resilient part, over time the mechanisms can wear out and will require replacement. The Clutch Kit is an integral piece within your transmission allowing your current gear to be disengaged from your car's driveshaft to enable another greater or smaller gear to be applied. In vehicles using an automatic transmission, a Clutch Kit is integrated directly into the transmission system, but stick shifts require the car owner to operate a clutch on their own, typically via the pedal near your brake pedal. Clutch Kites allow the driver to switch gears by temporarily disconnecting the car's transmission from its motor. An operative Clutch Kit helps switch gears utilizing a flywheel and friction disks; if the clutch is engaged, the flywheel and clutch plate become disjointed, uncoupling the engine from the drive train and allowing the engine to rotate without turning the wheels.
