Dorman makes this expansion tank for installation on 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, and 2004 Dodge Intrepids. The expansion tank prevents the escape of coolant from the cooling system when the coolant heats up. Hot coolant takes up more space than cool coolant. The expanded coolant pours into the expansion tank until it cools down and returns to the cooling system. The reservoir cap is included with this expansion tank.
